A Day In The Life...

Hello everyone!
Today I just wanted to share with you something that I did this last week. On Sunday my grandmother and I went to a book fair in Breese, IL. We have been going to this book fair for 2-3 years now and we love it. The book fair is I think for two (maybe three) days, Saturday and Sunday (maybe Friday), and the books are different prices on different days. There are tons of tables filled with books and there are books in boxes underneath the tables. They have all kinds of books from well known authors to not so well known. There were books from many different genres. Some sections of the were dedicated to a specific genre, like mystery or biography. The books were also alphabetized by last name of the author.

We usually go on Sunday every year because on Sunday the books aren't priced individually. You buy bags and fill them up with the books that you want. The bags are three dollars each and they are the big brown paper bags you get at IGA. On Sunday the book fair opened at 9am. I think that the books were free after 10:30, which was great! All these books were donated from libraries and people.
We got 66 books for $9! Here is what I got.

Once we were done with the book fair we got breakfast and we went to PJ's Diner. Like the book fair, we have gone to this diner for 2-3 years. This restaurant is great. There is pictures and items all over the walls. There is even an Elvis statue. The food is good. The waitresses and waiters are nice. I would recommend going there to eat if you haven't already.

(This is my grandmother drinking coffee)

I did other stuff this week besides going to the book fair but that was my highlight of the week so I thought I would share it. What was your favorite thing that you have done this week or last week? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading!
I hope you have a nice day!

TV shows I'm Currently Watching

Hello everybody!!
I am a TV addict and I thought I could talk to about what I am currently watching with you guys today.

1. Shadowhunters- I honestly have a love-hate relationship with this TV show. I love the book series so much so I watch the show but I hate the show. There are so many issues with this show in my opinion.

  • I don't like the acting
  • I don't like how the costume design people make the person who plays Izzy dress like a prostitute.
  • I don't like how they draw on the runes and I also don't like the purple blob portals.
  • Why the purple necklace?
  • Why mention the parabarti now? I thought they became parabarti in the later books...
  • I think they are trying to hard to fit into society today. The pilot episode they were talking about tweeting. What?! Why?!
I might stop watching Shadowhunters. I gave it a shot. I have watched live 5-6 episodes. I think that if a different network produced Shadowhunters that it would be way better. A network like the CW, Starz, or HBO. If it had a new network and new actors, pretty much a new everything, then I think I would watch it. I am glad that they tried to make such an amazing book series a TV show. I just wish it was better..Sorry..Not sorry..

2. Jane The Virgin- I really like the previous season, now I have no idea how I feel. Jane is trying to fall in love with someone. I know that this show is supposed to be dramatic and I think I will continue to watch it but it just kinda drives me crazy.

3. Arrow-OMG this show is amazing. If you like movies like the Avengers movies (I know Arrow is DC and Avengers is Marvel) go watch Arrow. There are, I think, 4 seasons. Its good. Its about a guy who puts on a green hood and fights bad guys. My summary does not fully explain this show. There is more to it than what I said. Just go watch it and see for yourself how amazing this show is.

4. Recovery Road- Unlike Shadowhunters I think that Freeform did a good job with Recovery Road. I am by no means saying that this show is without faults but it is WAY better than Shadowhunters. This show is about a teenager that has to go into a rehab facility. She has to live there and go to school during the day.

Well those are some of the shows that I am currently watching. Let me know in the comments what shows you are currently watching.
I hope you have a good day and I will talk to you soon!

Before I Go To Sleep Book Review

Hello everybody!
I have just finished the book Before I Go To Sleep by S. J. Watson. This book was amazing! It reminded me a lot of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. This book was thrilling and constantly had me second guessing what was going to happen next. If you are in the mood for a psychological thriller I would recommend you pick this one up next.

Here is my summary of the book.

Before I Go To Sleep is a book about remembering the past and trusting people. Christine wakes up everyday confused. She is unaware of who is sleeping next to her. She has forgotten her husband and their life together. Her husband, Ben, tells her the story of their life together everyday. (But) Is he telling her everything or is he only telling her what he wants her to know?

I gave this book a 4.5/5 stars on Goodreads. I couldn't give it a full five stars because I felt that the ending was rushed. I wanted more after reading the last page. I felt like it needed another 1-2 pages.

There is a movie for this book. I would recommend that you read the book before you see the movie trailer because the movie trailer gives things away. I watched the movie and I did not like it. It was okay but not what I thought it would be. It changed some things that I did not like. Since I read the book I was questioning how things would happen that happened in the book. The movie did not follow the book. If I watched the movie without reading the book I think I would have liked it.

This book has made me want to read more psychological thrillers. If you guys have any recommendations let me know in the comments. I am going to talk about the book more now so if you have not read it, read it and come back. I don't want to spoil you.

This book had me second guessing everything. There were times that I didn't know if what Christine wrote down was really true or what she believed to be true. You can't trust what any of these people say in the book.

Okay..There are many things in this book that took me by surprise. Such as I did not see Adam being alive. I know that there were hints. Christine said, I think, a few times that she had a feeling that he wasn't dead or she just couldn't believe it. I was happy and very surprised.

The next think that I didn't see coming was Mike. I didn't think that Mike would pretend to be her husband. That was like a smack in the face when I read it. I had to reread it. I couldn't believe it. I knew from the very beginning that something had to be up with "Ben". I just didn't like him at all. I didn't like Dr. Nash either. For some reason in the beginning I kept thinking that Dr. Nash and "Ben" knew about each other and did not tell Christine. I thought they had some secret agenda going on.

There was one thing that I did not like about the book and that was the ending. I thought the ending was rushed. I wish that there was an epilogue or something. I wanted a page or two more. I wanted her to go to sleep and wake up. I wanted to see if she remembered Ben. I thought it would be nice if she remembered Ben and Adam.

Let me know what you thought of the book in the comments!

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a good day!

My New "Office"

Hello everybody!!
I got a desk and I absolutely love it! Its like a little office (even thought it is in my bedroom).
I am sorry if you do not like posts where people share what their desks look like. I guess you can come back next week... :)
My other "desk" was a coffee table and it was very uncomfortable to sit at. I had to stoop over the coffee table to reach my computer and sometimes I just had my computer in my lap while I typed. Which was okay but defeated the purpose of having the coffee table as my desk.

Now I can sit and be comfortable when I write blog posts or surf the internet. It fits everything that I need. A planner, computer, (a plant, not a really necessity) and a lamp. I love that the desk is small because that means I will only be placing things on here that I really need.
What do your office spaces look like? Leave a picture or something in the comments.
Thank you for reading!
I hope you have a good day!!

February TBR

Hello Everyone!
I have decided to make a TBR for the month of February because I think that making lists help me stay on track with my reading goal. I know that I don't always complete my TBR but I like making and having a list in mind.

Last month was not a very good reading month for me and I think that is due partly to me not making a list. The other reason for me not reading as much is because I was running around like crazy. I was trying to get everything in order for the spring semester of school and then I decided not to go for the spring semester. The timing was off so I will be going back in the fall.

...Anyway...

This months TBR is going to be quite long. I normally only put 2-3 books on my TBR for the month...This month I have five.

The books I planned to read and a quick summary of what the book is about.
  • The Martian by Andy Weir is about an astronaut that gets stuck on Mars and is trying to figure out how to get back to Earth.
  • Tonight and Always by Nora Roberts is about an author and an anthropologist teaming up.
  • Breakable by Tamara Webber is the second book in a series so I don't want to put a summary on here in case people have not read the first book.
  • Winter by Marissa Meyer is the last book in a series so I do not want to put a summary on her in case people have not read the other books.
  • I'll Scream Later by Marlee Matlin is an autobiography of Marlee Matlins life.

Let me know what you plan to read in February.
Thank you for reading!
I hope you have a good day!!!
