Thoughts on The Girl in the Spiders Web by David Lagercrantz

The Girl in the Spiders Web is the fourth book in the Millenium Series. If you did not know the original author Stieg Larsson died thirteen years ago but David Lagercrantz was picked up to continue the storyline that Stieg Larsson created.

Since this is the fourth book in the series I am going to be talking about the other books briefly and I want to get into a spoiler discussion on this book so if you do not want to be spoiled for the previous books or this novel I would leave now.

I read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo right after I watched the movie. Normally, I would not have done that but I did not know that it was a book series before watching the film. I remember that my best friend and I wanted to go see a movie together. (This was when the American version with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig came out). I remember seeing the trailer for the movie and how it was this murder mystery with that this punk girl riding around the city on a motorcycle. We were both intrigued and saw the movie. We had no idea that it was rated R or what the majority of the premise of this movie was. It was a shock watching the movie but after exiting the theatre all I wanted to do was run to Walmart to see if they had the book.

Luckly, they did and I immediately started reading it. I remember being so engrossed in this series that I told my grandmother about it. I talked about it so much that she started reading it too.

I remember that when I finished the third book in this series I wanted more. I wanted more mysteries for Salander and Blomkvist to solve. The ending of the third book just left me hanging. I knew that there had to be more books with these characters. That is when I did some digging, found out that Stieg Larrson died, and all the controversy surrounding his partner and the series.

With all of what I read regarding how the family dealt with his estate I really had no interest in continuing with the series. I knew that they were in the process of finding another author to pick up where Stieg Larsson had left the series but I just lost interest. I felt like no one could do Lisbeth and Mikael justice.

Which brings me to now...

Last week I was scrolling through the books on my library app and there was a section that said something like "soon to be movies 2018" so I scrolled through that section. That is when I found The Girl in the Spiders Web. I thought 'There is no way this is happening'. Well I was wrong. They are skipping books two and three to make book four a movie. (I know that there are the Swedish versions of the series and I have watched them. It just seems weird that they are skipping some pretty big events in this series by making book four into a movie.)

Anyway after hearing that there is going to be another movie and that there is a new book, The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye, I wanted to give this series another chance. I did not have high hopes going in, like I said earlier, no one can do Lisbeth and Mikael like Steig Larsson.

Honestly I was right. This book for me felt hollow.

According to Goodreads I read the original trilogy about four years ago. So I don't remember the small details in the trilogy and I am not sure what I wanted out of this story but I expected more from Lisbeth and Mikael.
On the cover it says A Lisbeth Salander Novel well I don't think that there was much of Salander in the novel. She was brought up more at the end because she was taking care of August but she was not the main person in the novel and neither was Blomkvist. To me it felt like I got more from the cops than I did the two main characters of this series.

I understand that the cops are supposed to be brought up a bit because this book deals with the corruption of the government but it was just to much.

I wanted more interaction from Mikael and Salander. They corresponded very briefly in this novel and it was kind of upsetting. They are supposed to be a team.

A few things that just made me angry:
There is a rape torture scene in this novel that is completely unnecessary. Zander gets raped and tortured by a women whose name is escaping me. (I listened to this book on audio and this was just terrible.) I did not want to go back and listen to find her name.

There is a scene at the end of the book where a man was talking about how drunk him and his partner were and how he had sex with her so many times. (Very Uncomfortable to sit through. Completely unnecessary.)

This next bit did not make me angry per se but I just do not understand why it was done this way. What I am talking about is that in this book the author announces characters like Lisbeth and Mikael; telling the readers who they are and what they do. This is book four in a series I do not need the author to reiterate for me that Mikael is a journalist at Millenium Magazine and that Lisbeth is this renowned hacker.

The last thing that really got to me, I touched on this earlier, is that Mikael and Lisbeth do not meet again until the end of the book. This to me is very infuriating for a few reasons, the first is that they are the main characters of this series they should meet up more than once. I get that this story dealt with being under the radar but still. The second reason that this made me mad is because the ending felt like the same ending from the third book. I remember at the end of the third book they finally meet up again and they agree to be friends and to hear the same ending almost for this book is just irritating.

After I finished this book I was super excited to start the next one. I guess I was just on a book high or something but now that I think about it more I do not want to. I have also seen some of the reviews for this next book and they are not good.

I don't think I ever mentioned this but I gave this book 2 stars.

So there are all my rambly thoughts on this book and the soon to be movie. I have no idea if I am going to see the movie or not. I am going to wait and watch trailers for the movie. Then I'm going to decide.

If you have read this book let me know what you thought.

I hope you have a great day.

Saga Series Review (Spoiler Free)

Are you in the mood to read a wonderfully illustrated love story about two people whose homes are at war with each other and they are trying to escape from it all to save themselves and their baby? If you said yes Saga is the series for you!

I really enjoyed this series. I love that as the reader you experience every point of view possible with this series. The reader gets the point of view from the parents, the point of view from the bounty hunters, the point of view from the robots, and it is narrated by their daughter. I don’t think that I have read a series with as many different points of view as this one. Brian K. Vaughan writes the story with such fluidity that it doesn’t seem like an abrupt change in narration when it switches from the many points of view.

I want to encourage those who have not started this series to do so. Just try it. Read the first Volume and I guarantee you will be hooked. You will want more.

I requested the first volume from the library and read it in one sitting. I was so upset when I finished it because I had to request the other volumes and wait for them to come in before I got to find out what happens next.

I am highly anticipating the seventh volume!

The art in these graphic novels is amazing!

I do want to warn you that this series is for mature audiences. If you are not prepared for mature content (sex scenes) do not pick up this series.

If you have read the series let me know what you think in the comments.

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a great day!

Fifty Shades Trilogy Review (spoilers)

I recently finished the Fifty Shades trilogy and can't wait to share my thoughts.

***I feel like everyone says this but just so people know Fifty Shades is not a good example of a healthy relationship.****

Fifty Shades of Grey-(2 stars)
I want start out by saying that I did not like Fifty Shades of Grey. There were so many things that irritated me about this book. I did not like the rules-the submissive is seen as his property. Wow! I thought while reading this book that Ana had Stockholm Syndrome. One minute she would say that she did not like something and then she says that she wants to please him.

There are parts in the book where she says that he is suffocating. If he is suffocating then LEAVE!

I kept thinking 'why not try to date other people? This man is the only man that you have had a relationship with and this relationship is not healthy.'

I think that most people know this quote but I have to include it because it sums up this book perfectly (which is why I think E. L. James named it Fifty Shades of Grey). "I'm fifty shades of fucked up." When I read this I thinking 'damn straight you're fucked up'.

Its not just Christian that gets on my nerves, Ana does too. She says she doesn't like him when he is mad and then does things deliberately to make him angry.

One part that I did think was interesting/amazing in the book was when Christian said that the submissive has the power. They have the power to say no. Finally! In a book where Christian says that he likes to be in control then to find out that he really isn't in control was a surprise.

The ending killed me. (I watched the movie before I read the book so I knew what was going to happen but still reading that made me angry and sad.) The fact that he got off on hurting her made me sick.

The last thing that I had a real problem with was that she said she loved Christian. How can you love someone when you don't know them. The side of him that she knows is the red room of pain. He won't open up and tell her things that are not related to a Dom/Sub relationship. She doesn't really know him at all.

(The reason I gave it two stars was 1.) This book kept me on my toes. I wanted to know how it was going to end and if she was going to find out more about Christian. 2.) Christian-I wanted to know why he is the way he is. Did what Mrs. Robinson do to him make him this way or was it something else that set him down this path?)

Fifty Shades Darker-(3.5-4 stars)
Normally I don't continue on with a series if I don't like the first book but I wanted to read this one because the movie looked like it had more of a plot than just sex.
I was glad that we got to know more about Christian in this book. He explains why he doesn't like to be touched.
There are things that come to light for both Christian and Ana in this book. They both admit that they do not know each other very well.
One thing that made me jump for joy was the fact that Ana told Elena (AKA Mrs. Robinson) off. I was just waiting for it!
Another thing that I like in this book is that she calls him Fifty. She took the negative thing that he said about himself and sort of makes it a "cute" nickname but she calls him Fifty when he is being overbearing so maybe not cute. I don't know. Every time she called him Fifty I couldn't help but smile.

When he told her why he only had brunettes as his submissive's. WOW! I didn't expect that. He beats and sleeps with women who look like his mother. This was when I put the book down because that really is fifty shades of fucked up.

When Grace found out about Elena and Christian I was so happy that she slapped her. Its about damn time someone smacked this women in the face for taking advantage of a fifteen year old boy.
This part made me so sad: '"You never once held me,' Christian whispers. 'You never once said you loved me.'" (He said this to Elena.)

The ending to this book also shocked me. I wanted to immediately start the next book but when I finished this one it was like 1-2am and I needed sleep.

Overall I enjoyed this book. There are still parts in this book that I can't stand. Mainly when Ana says she does this for him and by this I mean the abusive sex, but there are other parts that were good.

Why I gave the book 3.5-4 stars:
1. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time
2. There was more of a plot
3. There was more information about Christian.

Fifty Shades Freed-(4 stars)
There are moments in this book that had me laughing.
I died laughing when Christian and Ana were being followed in their car. Christian had me laughing so hard because he wanted her to go around this car. Here is the conversation:
"Flash the headlights," Christian orders when a Ford Mustang won't move.
"But that would make me an asshole."
"So be an asshole!" he snaps.

Then there are times where I am still completely shocked when Christian becomes 'fifty shades' again.
There is a part in this book where Christian shows up at Ana's work and he's says something to the extinct of he's comes to places he owns because it keeps people on their toes and wives in their place. After reading that I was stunned.

One thing that I loved in this book was when Ana tells Gia off. In the last book I was waiting to see Elena be told off and in this book I was waiting for Ana to tell Gia off.

Another thing that I love that Ana did is when she smacked that guy on the dance floor. I was glad that she took care of it and stood up for herself. She didn't need Christian to come to the rescue, even though he did show up and punch the guy.

A conversation that I love:
"I love philanthropic Christian," I murmur.
"Just him?"
"Oh, I love megalomaniac Christian, too, and control freak Christian, sexpertise Christian, kinky Christian, romantic Christian, shy Christian...the list endless."
"That's a whole lot of Christians."
"I'd say at least fifty."
He laughs. "Fifty Shades," he murmurs into my hair.
"My Fifty Shades."

When Ana took the money to save Mia and Christian told her to take it all I was so sad. Guys, I felt so bad for Christian because he thought that she was with him for his money. I was screaming 'No! No! No!'

I was so happy when they were reunited and he said he was okay with her being pregnant. After his freak out when he found out when he found out that she was pregnant. I was glad to see that he came around to the idea of being a father.

I loved the ending with Christian playing with Teddy and talking to Ana about their baby girl. It was great. Just a good ending.

Overall
I loved how Christian and Ana grew as the story progressed. Once I finished Fifty Shades Freed I thought back to Fifty Shades of Grey and how Christian was. He is still controlling but his heart  has grew. He loves Ana, Teddy, and Phoebe. Ana also isn't shy/innocent anymore. She becomes this women that isn't afraid to call Christian out. In the first book I know that she was wanting to do things for him to make him happy but by the third book she tells him she's had enough. She uses the safe words and isn't afraid to tell him no.

These books made me happy, sad, frustrated, and intrigued. I am sorry if all of my feelings for these books are coming out a mess. Hopefully you enjoyed hearing my rambled thoughts and feelings.

Let me know what you thought of the Fifty Shades Trilogy!

Thanks for reading!
I hope you have a great day!

Biannual Bibliothon Wrap Up!

Hello everyone!!!
This past week, July 3-9, was the Biannual Bibliothon. For those of you who do not know what the Biannual Bibliothon is, it is a read-a-thon with challenges to complete during the week.
I decided last minute that I wanted to participate in this read-a-thon so that is why I did not make a blog post about what I planned to read but I did post on Instagram.
There were seven challenges for the summer Biannual Bibliothon and here they are along with the books that complete the challenges.

1 Read the group book-The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

2 & 3 Read a book you have been putting of // a free choice- All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

4 Read a book off of the hosts list of recommendations-Abarat by Clive Barker

5 Read a book with your favorite mythical creature- Mystic City by Theo Lawrence

6 & 7 Read a book from an author you have never read before // read a book in a different format than you usually do- The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
I am listening to this book.

I did not end up reading all the books that I planned to. The last three days of the read-a-thon I had planned on cramming in as much reading as possible but I had a change of plans last minute. A family member needed someone to watch her animals so I volunteered.

During this last week I only completed two books which stinks. The two books that I completed were The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson.

The first book that I complete was The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up by Marie Kondo. I listened to this as an audiobook which is something I hardly ever do. I have listened to one other audiobook in my life. Listening to a book is not something I normally do because usually half way through the book I end up forgetting what I listened to. I space out when I listen to audiobooks.

When I was listening to this book I wasn't spacing out. I was actually enjoying what I was listening to. I gave this book a 3 stars on Goodreads.
The reason that I gave this book three stars was because it was repetitive and I did not like the idea of talking to your furniture, home, or clothes. Talking to objects is strange thing to do but I understood why she does/says to do this and that is because it gives/shows that every item has a purpose.
After finishing this book I wanted to clean the entire house. If I had not already gone through my items and discarded what I didn’t want I would have done so after listening this book.

The next and last book that I completed during this read-a-thon was The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson.

I have some conflicting thoughts about this book. I am still trying to decide if I should stick with what I rated this book or to change the rating. I rated this book a 4 stars on Goodreads.

I will keep this spoiler free.

The Unexpected Everything is about how Andie's plans for the summer change at the last minute. She had planned on going to a med camp over the summer but a political scandal involving father, who is a congressman, causes her plans to change. Instead of going to med camp Andie gets a job as a dog walker and meets a boy.

I want to talk about what I did not like about the book first.
1. I found some parts of the plot predictable.
2. I did not like Toby's. There is an issue at the end of the book between Toby and Bri (who are best friends) and Toby lets that issue ruin their friendship. I have never been in a situation like that so maybe I have no room to talk but if that happened to me I don't think that I would have acted like Toby did.
3. There were also times where Andie annoyed me. She tries to control everything in the hope that if everything is controlled nothing will go wrong. Well things went wrong...

I want to end on a happy note so here are the parts that I liked.
1. The scavenger hunt. This was my favorite part in the book.
2. The friendships. I loved all the group texts and meet ups at the diner.
3. The romantic relationships.
4. There is one quote in this book that I loved:
It says "'You have to take your chances. Go and attempt and see what happens. And even if you fail-especially if you fail-come back with your experience and your hard-won knowledge and a story you can tell. And then later you can say, without regret or hesitation....'Once, I dared to dare greatly.'"

I love this quote. I think that this quote encompasses the entire theme of this novel.

So I completed two books and three of the challenges, which I don't think is to bad. If you have read these two books let me know your thoughts or if you have read any of the books mentioned in this post let me know your thoughts! (Please no spoilers.)

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a great day.

November 9 Review

Hello everyone!

I feel like it has been a while since I have wrote a review post and I knew once I finished November 9 that I had to write a review.

If you have not heard of this book it is about how two people, Ben and Fallon, met on November 9th and spent the day together. They plan to meet up every year on November 9th at the same place they met on the first November 9th. Ben lives in LA and Fallon just moved to New York. Ben is aspiring author and Fallon hopes to make it on Broadway. This story, like most of Colleen Hoovers novels, is about their relationship and how they go up against odds to try to make it work.
I gave November 9 a 3.5/5 stars on Goodreads.

I don't want this review to have spoilers. I just want to say some things about the novel that caused me to lower the rating.
1) I didn't like Ben and Fallon's relationship. I just didn't find it believable/realistic at times.
2) I didn't like Fallons' decision at the end of the book.
3) When Fallon was angry at Ben on, I think, the fourth November 9th, when he told Fallon about some of the decisions that he made for himself and Oliver it made me angry. I am trying to be vague and not give anything away for those of you who have not read the book. I hope those of you who have read the book get what I am trying to say.
4) I completely did not like the plot twist. It made me so angry that I wanted to stop reading the book right then and there but I carried on hoping the book would get better.

The thing that I did love about this book was the writing. Colleen Hoover can write some amazing books. The writing just flowed and because of that I read this book in a day.

I really enjoyed the scene where Ben met Fallon's dad in the restaurant. It was cute.

Another thing that I loved was that there were characters from Ugly Love in this book. I would recommend that you read Ugly Love before you read November 9 because there are some spoilers for the ending of Ugly Love in November 9.

I am not sure what else I can say about November 9.

I have now read 3 books by Colleen Hover. Ugly Love, Confess, and November 9. These are in the order of how I read them and favorite to least favorite.

Let me know down below in the comments if you have read November 9 and what you thought. Also let me know what Colleen Hoover book, if you have read any of her books, is your favorite!

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a great day.

My favorite book of the year so far!

I am sorry that I didn't post this yesterday. I intended on posting this yesterday but I lost track of time and forgot. :(

Hello everyone!
I am so excited because today I want to discuss with you my thoughts and feelings on one of the best books I have read this year. That book is called In A Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware.  If you guys are friends with me on Goodreads or follow my reviews you will know how crazy I am about this book. I was constantly updating my reading status.

I went into this book completely blind to the plot. All I knew about this book was that someone compared it to Gone Girl and that completely sold me on the book but I will tell you a little bit about it incase you do want to go into the book knowing a little bit about the plot.
Okay so this book is about a bachelorette party. The bride-to-be's best friend invites the brides old friends from college to spend a couple days with her in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. During this bachelorette party someone gets shot and murdered. So who is the one who pulled the gun? Is it Clare-the bride, Melanie-the lawyer, Nina-the doctor, Tom-the play writer, Nora-the author (and main character), or Flo-the brides best friend?

If that did not sell you on wanting to read the book I suggest you go find the book in the store and read the first chapter. The first chapter is just a page long and it just grips you. I will tell you that there is a page before the first chapter. Read the first chapter, decide if you want to read the book, if your answer is yes then go back and read that page. I think the first page was okay but once I read the first chapter I said 'Okay this is my next read!'
This book kept me on my toes! There were times where I was so happy that I was reading this in broad daylight because I would have been scared to death during some parts reading this book if I was reading it at night. One thing that I am very excited about is that this book is going to be turned into a movie! I have no idea when that is happening but I can't wait to find out and watch it.

Okay on to what I thought of the book!

The Writing Style

Normally I don't comment on the writing style of the book because I am never sure what to say. I guess when I normally do a review I look at the story overall and judge it but with this book I loved the writing style. You have 2-3 chapters that take dfplace during the bachelorette party and then you get one to two pages about when the main character is in the future, after the shooting. I love that the author did this. It definitely kept me reading. I enjoyed the chapters about the party but I just wanted to get to the present with the main character. I also liked that the majority of the chapters started out with the characters in conversations.

The Characters

I will be honest there where instances in the book where almost all the characters annoyed me. I will get into the reasons why in the spoiler section of this review because the reasons that they annoy me ruin the story if you have not read it.

The Mystery

I loved the mystery. I didn't find it predictable at all. I did not guess who the murderer was until author revealed who it was. Very, very good mystery!

I gave this book a 5/5 stars on Goodreads.

Now I want to get into the spoiler section of this review so if you have not read the book yet I suggest you go read it and come back so we can discuss! :)

So I want to start by explaining my thoughts on the characters.

Nora
Nora at times completely annoyed me. I was kind of sick of hearing about her and James and how she still had unresolved feeling for him. It got old quick. Even when I found out about the pregnancy I felt bad but she still annoyed me.
Clare
I just didn't like Clare because she's very manipulative.
Flo
I think Flo's annoying but I also felt bad for her. The one thing that mainly annoyed me about her was how she was trying to make everything perfect.

There was only one thing that I guessed from the beginning and that was that James did not send the text message to Nora when she was sixteen. I am not sure why Nora did not figure it out sooner. She even said that James was the only one who called her Leo and in the text message it said Lee. OBVIOUS!! (At least to me it was.) I was so happy when Clare told Nora about the text. I was jumping up and down I was so happy. I was like "YES! I KNEW ALL ALONG!!" I know that part in the book is very sad. I was just happy that I guessed it because usually when I predict things in books it is completely wrong.

I did not predict Clare being the murderer. I thought it was Flo the whole time and I thought the reason Clare killed James was ridiculous.

One thing that blew me away was Flo killing herself. I didn't see it coming and I wish that it didn't happen. I was hoping that Nora, Tom, and Nina would become friends with Flo. Maybe take her out to lunch or at least stay in touch with her after they got home. I could tell throughout the book all she wanted was a friend....Just makes me sad knowing that is the way her story went..

The last and final thing that I will be talking about in me review today was the ending. It infuriated me. I am not sure if Nora clicked delete on the email or if she clicked on it to respond. I hope it was to respond. It would have been nice knowing that she is talking to people besides an editor...

Let me know what you guys thought of the book in the comments. I would love to discuss it more with you!

Thanks for reading!
I hope you have a good day.

The Crown by Kierra Cass Review

Hello everyone!
I am so excited because today I am going to discuss my thoughts and feeling about The Crown by Kiera Cass. The Crown is the fifth and final installment in the Selection Series. If you have not read the whole Selection Series I would not read this review because there will be spoilers.

The Crown

Oh My Gosh! I just finished The Crown and I am at a loss for words. First of all I want to say that Kiera Cass has a way of letting her readers think they know where the story is going to go and then she pulls a complete 360.
Before I get into where she completely stooped me, I want to talk about my overall thoughts on the book.
Overall I thought this book was great and an interesting way to end the series. I think that Eadlyn became more tolerable in this book. She was not all about herself in this book. She was concerned about her family, country, the boys in the Selection, and her future as a ruler.

The first thing that threw me for a loop was Hale liking Ean. I think what threw me was the fact the Hale came to Eadlyn and told her instead of Ean. For some reason I could see it coming more from Ean than Hale. I guess thats because Ean never expressed interest in her romantically. I am happy that she let them live their lives together instead of executing them for treason.

The last thing that completely shocked me was her feelings for Erik. I did not see it coming. The only time I even remember her expressing feelings for him was half way through The Crown. I don't remember her saying that she had feelings for him in The Heir. I felt like it was rushed.

Maybe I am the only one to think this but I did not like that she ended up with Erik. I wanted her to end up with Kile. I know that in the beginning of The Heir Eadlyn said that she didn't like Kile and I know that would be a really cliche ending but I wanted it to happen. I know that she let him go to follow his dreams of becoming an architect but isn't there a way for him to do that as the Prince? Couldn't he oversee the projects being done? Let me know in the comments if you wanted Eadlyn to end up with Erik or someone else, like Kile.

One thing I really wanted was an epilogue to the epilogue. I wanted to know how Hale and Ean were doing. I wanted to know where Kile was and how his architect dream was coming along. I wanted to know what Henri was up to. I wanted to know more about how Eadlyns' reign as queen was progressing. I really hope Kiera writes more. I don't care if it is a novella or a novel. I just need more.

Since I had so many unanswered questions and I thought that the boy that she ended up with was rushed I only gave this book a 4/5 stars on Goodreads.

Let me know in the comments what you thought of the book.
Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a good day.

The Heir by Kierra Cass Review

Hello everyone!

Before I get into todays post I wanted to let everyone know that I will not be making a Wrap up for May because I only read two books this month and I will be reviewing those two books. The two books I finished this month were The Heir and The Crown by Kiera Cass

Today I want to discuss with you my thoughts on The Heir. Before you start reading this review I just want to let you know that if you have not read The Heir or the first three books in The Selection Series I would go away and come back when you have finished the books. There are going to be spoilers.

The Heir

Just like the original Selection Series I really enjoyed this novel. (But...) My feelings toward this series are conflicting at the moment. This series makes me happy but also frustrates me. I am mainly frustrated with the characters in this series.

My feelings toward Eadlyn are the same feelings that I had toward America, which are annoyed/ angry. I found America annoying because she was indecisive throughout the three books and I find Eadlyn annoying because she is very self absorbed and rude. She constantly says that she is going to be queen and no one is more powerful than she is. Eadlyn is also constantly rude to people. She is especially rude to the boys in the Selection, specifically when she is eliminating the first eleven boys.

One thing that I thought was kind of strange was when Eadlyn was talking about how handsome Aspen was.

"General Leger had these sparkling green eyes that shimmered with mischief, one of those men who grew even more handsome as he aged. I knew it for a fact because Miss Lucy once showed me a picture of their wedding day, and he seriously only got better looking". (P.74)

It was just very awkward reading this because she had no idea that her mother was in love with him before she married Maxon. Even though it wasn't needed I wish that would have been brought up. I wanted Eadlyn to find out more about Americas selection then she did.

As Eadlyn has decreases the amount of people who are in the Selection and I am curious to see who she picks to spend the rest of her life with. (At this point in time I have not read The Crown. I wanted to get all of my thoughts and feelings out about The Heir before I started The Crown.)

The last thing that I will probably be talking about in this review is the ending. I thought that the ending was rushed. I did not like that two major events happen within a matter of pages.

The events that I am talking about are Ahren and Camilles wedding along with America having a heart attack. I predicted them getting married but I did not predict the heart attack happening and if I thought any character was going to have a heart attack, I would have guessed Maxon because throughout the entire book it is talked about how stressed and tired he looks.

Since the ending was so abrupt and Eadlyn was so frustrating I only gave this book a 3.5/5 stars on Goodreads.

Hopefully the ending to the entire series will be better. I have an idea of who is going to be the last man standing and I hope that man is the one I picked. I will let you know if my prediction was correct in my review for The Crown, which I hope will be up on Thursday.

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a nice day.

I Hate Myselfie Book Review

Hello everyone!
Today I am finally putting up a review of I Hate Myselfie by Shane Dawson. I know that I read this book last month and it is a little late to be putting a review up of this book but I wanted to anyway.

I gave this book a 5/5 stars on Goodreads. This book made me laugh and cry. I highly suggest you go and pick it up.
So for those of you who don't know, this book is a collections of essays about Shane's life before/after starting YouTube. Before reading this book I suggest that you watch some of his videos to understand his comedy. I will when reading this book don't take everything he says literal. When I was reading this book I was reading it in a sarcastic voice for some parts.
I am going to go into detail and talk about specific parts in this book that I loved so if you have not read this book yet I suggest you go read it then come back so we can discuss. :)

Sad

  • One part of this book made me very sad was when his grandmother died. I have seen some of Shane's earlier videos and saw how much his grandmother meant to him... When I read about when it happened in the book I was all tears! :'(
  • I was sad when he was not allowed to go on the rollercoaster.
  • It was sad when he was trying to ride the rollercoaster, after losing 150+ lbs, and the security guard person had Shane take off his shirt. It was sad that he had so show everyone that he was wearing his mothers bathing suit. I was holding my breath while reading this...I was so nervous to read what was going to happen next!
  • It was sad when he talked about how he compares his body to other peoples bodies.
Terrifying
  • One part that I found terrifying was when Lacy came into Jenny Craig. This was another part in the book where I was holding my breath. I wasn't sure if she was going to say something mean to him or if she would recognize him.
  • The last part in this book that terrified me was when he was talking about astral projection. That freaked me out.

Happy

  • I was really happy when he found his mothers old bathing suit. I was happy that he could finally feel comfortable and go out with his friends. :)
    • I was happy that his friends didn't care that he was wearing a women's bathing suit.
  • I was happy when Shane told Lacy who he was. She didn't know who he was and she didn't remember that she was terrible to him in high school. Then Shane found out that she was going through some terrible stuff too during high school.
I really liked this book and I would love to read more books by YouTubers. I Hate Myselfie was the first book that I have read by a YouTuber. If you guys have any suggestions on which YouTuber book I should pick up next leave them in the comments. Also let me know what you thought of I Hate Myselfie.

I hope you have a good day!
Thanks for reading!
