Books that I want to finish before the end of the year.

Hello everyone!
(I am trying out centering my posts instead of putting them from left to right. Let me know what you think of it.)

Today I am making a post that I have made before and I feel like you guys were just shaking your heads when you saw the title of this post. Today I am making another book goals blog post but I am going to do something different this time.

This time I am going to be making myself to write down what I read of a book for the day and I will be taping post-it notes to my vanity mirror so that I can remind myself that I have to get these books done! During my weekly posts I will give you updates. Maybe I will just post twice a week like I used to and have one be an updates post. Let me know what you think of that.

I want to set a goal of reading at least two books a month for the rest of the year. With school and work I think that is a pretty good goal.

All of these books are books that I physically own. I want to reduce the amount of books on my TBR. So on to the books that I want to read before the year is over!
None of these are in a particular order.

The first book that I am dying to complete is All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. When I get done with The Son of Neptune I think that I will pick this one up!

The next book that I would like to pick up is After You by Jojo Moyes. I read Me Before You earlier this year and loved it so I can't wait to see what I think of the second book.

The next two on the list go together and they are The Mark of Athena and The House of Hades by Rick Riordan. My goal for the year is to finish this series. I know that I didn't include The Blood of Olympus in this group but I am hoping I can squeeze it in somewhere.

The next book I am going to mention I have already saw the movie for and that book is The Martian by Andy Weir. I really enjoyed the movie and can't wait to read the book.

I have also seen the movie of the next book that I am about to mention but I saw the movie a long time ago. That book is The Lovely Bones. I remember this movie creeping me out but I can't remember much of the plot.

These next two books I have been dying to read for a while now but just haven't picked up. I think I have tried to read both of these books a few times but got so caught up in school or another book that I put them down. The two books that I am talking about are Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and Let It Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson.

Well that is my list of books that I would like to complete before the end of the year. The sad thing is that I am 9 books behind on my reading goal for the year. I'm not sure I will be able to complete it before the year ends but I am not going to stress myself out if I don't read 45 books.

Let me know in the comments what books you would like to complete before the year ends.
Thank you for reading!
I hope you have a great day!

Brooklyn Movie Review 2 (Spoilers)

Hello everyone!

Now that I have watched Brooklyn twice I wanted to talk more in detail about what I like and don't like about the movie. If you want to read my gush about the movie that I wrote at 2 am this morning after watching it for the first time you can scroll down or click here.

This post will have spoilers on what happens in the movie.

While watching the movie for a second time I took notes. I noticed a lot more the second time that I want to talk about so here we go!

I empathized with Eilis when she left home. She was saddened because everyone that she knows is back in Ireland. I was away from home, I didn't go halfway across the world, but I was gone for seven months. I understand missing your family and friends but I had my phone so I could talk to them easily.
Which brings me to the next thing that I like about this movie and that is the letters. I may be the minority when I say this but I love writing letters instead of texts or emails. I didn't write when I was gone. I wish I had but I thought that my family would think it was stupid that I wrote a letter instead of a text message.

Another thing that I like about the movie is that Eilis went back to Ireland to experience life over their. I like that she talks to Jim Farrel. I think that she needs to experience that life, to see what she really wants in life, before she goes back to Brooklyn.

This next thing that I like about the movie might sound odd but I liked that Eilis wore the same outfits more than once. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like in movies now days characters never wear an outfit twice. In Brooklyn you saw her wear the yellow dress, the blue dress, and the navy shirt with diamonds on it several times. To me this makes the character more real. I bet you wear the same outfit several times, I know I do. The clothes are clean of course but you don't stop wearing an outfit just because one person saw you in it.

The one and only thing that I didn't like about the movie is that Eilis and Tony got married so quickly. I think that they got married so quickly for two reasons. 1. So they could have sex and 2. it was a promise or guarantee that she would return to him. I like that they got married but I wish that it wasn't so rushed.

Lastly here are some moments that I love be Eilis and Tony:
1. When they met at the dance
2. When she told that if he asked she would tell him that she loved him
3. Any time he mentioned baseball
4. The end where he sees her across the street

The plot was great and the characters were acted out very well. I have not read the book yet but I am putting it on my list of books to read. This movie has easily made it onto my favorites list.
I am definitely going to have to buy it. (I watched it on HBOGO last night and this morning.)

If you have seen this movie what are your thoughts?

Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a great day!

Brooklyn Movie Review

Oh My Gosh! I just finished the movie Brooklyn. It is currently 2:30 in the morning and all I want to do is gush about this movie!!!

If you haven't seen this movie stop what you are doing and go watch it. You won't regret it, I promise.

For those of you who haven't heard about this movie it is about a girl, Eilish, from Ireland who decides to move to Brooklyn. Her sister Rose knows a priest who sets her up with a job and a place to stay. When she is in Brooklyn she meets people, specifically a boy, and it all takes off from there.

This movie had me smiling and in tears. I kind of want to watch it again. I don't think I have ever wanted to watch a movie again right after I just finished it.

Things that I love about this movie:
1. The time period, I believe it is set in the 1950s. I love the the dances, the atmosphere, everything.
2. That this movie takes place in two different countries, the USA and Ireland.
3. The romance

Things that I didn't like:
1. The romance, I have this on here twice because I loved the relationship between Eilis and Tony but I think that it progressed quickly. I think that he told her he loved her after a few weeks and they were married within a year of knowing each other.

I want a Brooklyn two. Can someone please get on that?! I want to see if they do what they talked about doing. I just want more.

I'm sorry that this post is scattered but I just want to talk about this amazing movie. If I were going to rate it I would give it a 4.5/5 stars. This movie deserved all of its awards and praise.

I am going to go and watch Brooklyn again.
I will talk to you guys soon!
Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Vegetarian Diary: The Shameful Day

Hey guys!
I realize it is Monday and I am posting early! Yay! I am hoping to still be able to post tomorrow but I am sorry in advance if this is the only thing I get out this week.

Today is going to be a sad shameful post.

Today is going to be like a diary post for me (and maybe you) to reflect on in the future.

I have been vegetarian since July 1st and I love it. (But!) Today I messed up.
Today has just been a mess. I woke up fifteen minutes before I was supposed to leave for school, which was something I didn't intend to do. So I left with no breakfast or lunch and I didn't have any make up on.

Once my first class was over I left to go to Walmart to get some lunch. I bought a pasta salad bowl and a tiny bag of ruffles cheddar cheese chips. The pasta salad had a little tray on top with dressing, chicken (which I threw away), cheese, and olives. I mixed my olives, cheese and dressing in my pasta salad. I ate 2-3 bites and thought it tasted weird/disgusting so I looked at the package. I thought that the dressing was regular ranch before I mixed it in. Then I found out that it was bacon ranch. :( I threw away my pasta bowl. Gosh I feel sick. Before I even went vegetarian I hated bacon flavored ranch. I think its disgusting!

So that is my sad and shameful post for the day. Heck it might get even worse and if it does I'll post again with an update.

(All I can think about when I am walking to class is that someone is going to yell shame, shame, shame.)

I am still going to continue my vegetarian lifestyle. Yes, I consider it a lifestyle instead of a diet. The word diet to me sounds awful.

I started this lifestyle because I wanted to try something different.

I didn't start it because I thought that it would help me loose weight and I didn't start it because I am an animal rights nut. (I do care about animals, but I am not the type of person that will yell at someone for eating meat.)

Well that is how my day is going so far. I like these kinds of posts. Its kind of nice to vent to someone. Let me know what you think of the post. Would you yell shame, shame, shame at me?
Have you ever had a slip up like this? If so let me know! (I don't want to feel alone.)

Thank you for reading!
I will (hopefully) talk to you tomorrow!
I hope you have a good day.

Life Update

Oh My Gosh! It feels like it has been forever since I sat down and wrote a blog post!

Hey guys!
It feels so good to sit down and talk to you again. The one thing that I look forward to in the week is being able to sit down and write about something.
Today I am writing about what I have been doing for the past week.

College started back up for me on Monday and it has been crazy. I haven't been in school for seven months so it has been an adjustment getting into a school routine.

Since I am back in school I thought that I could tell you about some of my classes.

I am taking a Classical Mythology class this semester that I think I am going to love.

I don't think that I have been this excited to read school material in a while. I love learning about Greek Mythology. I don't know that much about Roman Mythology but I can't wait to find out more about the Roman aspects of the Gods.

One class that I am dreading is a math class. Math is by far my worst subject.
This math course is going to be the hardest course, I believe, that I will take all semester. What makes it worse is that I have to take two more math classes before I get my Associates in Science.

**For those of you that hate math I want to advise you to take it early on. Get it out of the way. I made the mistake of waiting.**

...

I will try to keep up with posting on here. I am not sure how much of my content will be book related, sorry if that is something you like to read on here. I don't know how much time I will have to complete books outside of the required reading this semester. I will try to get some reviews up for books but it may not be as many as I have put up in the past.

Also some posts in the future might be college or school related. Let me know if there is a topic that you would like me to talk about.

I think that is all for todays post. Let me know what you have been up to lately. Also let me know what are your favorite and least favorite classes to take.
Thank you for reading.
I hope you have a great day.

July (book) Wrap Up 2016!

Hello everyone!

I am sorry that todays post is later than usually I had to work today. Once I got off work I came home and cleaned so I have had a long eventful day.

In todays post I will be discussing the books I read this past month. I have talked about them in other posts, whether it be a blog post or a Goodreads review. I will link both in this post in case you want to read my full thoughts because today I will only be talking a little bit about what I thought of the books I read.

The first thing that happened this month was the Biannual Bibliothon. I read two books and completed three of the seven challenges. The First book that I completed was The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and I listened to this book. I gave this book a 3/5 stars on Goodreads. If you want something that is going to put you in a cleaning mode then read this book. After finishing this book I starting organizing my drawers and desk like crazy. (My desk doesn't look so clean now but its a work in progress.)

The next and final book I completed for the Biannual Bibliothon was The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. This book is cute and fun but it has its faults. I rated it a 4/5 stars on Goodreads. Morgan Matson writes good books and I would recommend this book. If you want to see why I liked and disliked this book you can go and read my Biannual Bibliothon Wrap Up.

The last book that I completed this month was Through the Woods by Emily Carrol. Through the Woods is a graphic novel of short stories and I gave this book a 3/5 stars on Goodreads. I thought that this book was good but one thing that I thought before going into this book was that all the stories interconnected. When I first heard about this book all I knew was that it was a bunch of short stories about the woods; so I thought since it centered around one topic, the woods, that all of the short stories were interwoven. I was wrong. If you want to hear the rest of my thoughts you can head over to my Goodreads review.

One thing that I really love(d) about this book is the art. The art is simplistic on some pages and then very intricate on others. I love the color scheme of the book. Overall the art in this book gets an A from me.

Well that was a very short post for the day. Let me know in the comments if you have read any of the books I mentioned. Also let me know what book you completed this month!

Thanks for reading.
I hope you have a good day or evening for me.

The Choice Movie Discussion (Spoilers)!

Hello everyone!
Before I get into todays blog post I just wanted to tell you a few things.
1. I am very sorry that I have not been publishing blog post like I should. I just started a new job so I have been a little all over the place.
2. I will not be making a TBR for this month. If you want to see the books that I will try to get to this month you can see last months TBR.
3. I will not be making a wrap up on what I did in my personal life for this month because I have talked about what I have been doing over the month in Instagram posts and blog posts.
4. My book wrap up for the month might be up on Tuesday. :)

Now onto what I am going to be talking about today!! Last night I watched the movie The Choice. The Choice is a book to movie adaptation and I have not read the book. The book was written by Nicholas Sparks and I have a love/hate relationship with the books that he writes. If you have read or watched a book/movie about a Nicholas Sparks story you will probably know that they follow pretty much the same storyline.

But...

Even though this movie followed his usual plot I enjoyed it. I didn't love it but I thought it was okay. I would give it a B.

Things that I enjoyed about this story:
  • This is one of Nicholas Sparks movie that I think showed two people growing, as people and a family, together.
  • I liked that dogs brought these two people together. (Which might sound odd.) I thought that it was nice that they didn't immediately start going out. I liked that she rejected him and then their dogs were the reason they started talking. To me it was refreshing that they were not head over heels for each other right off the bat.
  • This next reason is going to be a spoiler so if you do not want to read about any spoilers I suggest that you scroll down now!                                                                                              The last thing that I liked in the movie was that no one died. I get that dying is a part of life but someone dies in almost every Nicholas Sparks based movie. It was nice to see that everyone lived.

Things I didn't like:
  • The one thing that really bothered me was the cheating in this movie. I don't like books or movies that deal with someone cheating on another person. The cheating aspect won't ruin the movie/book for me it will just lower the rating because the whole entire movie/book I can't help but think of the other person.
  • This is another spoiler so if you don't want to read any spoilers I would go away now.                    This reason goes against one of the reasons that I liked the movie and the reason that I am talking about is that no one died. I like that Gabby lived but I wish that they could have portrayed her coming off the ventilator and not dying a bit better. I thought that scene was lacking. I am not sure how I would improve it but to me it wasn't realistic. I realize that this is a movie and not real life but I just wanted something more believable than she just woke up.

Well I think that is all I have to say about this movie. Let me know if you have watched this movie. If you have what did you think? Also let me know, do you have the same issue with Nicholas Sparks as I do?

Thanks reading!
I hope you have a good day!

Hello

Hello everyone, I know that I have not posted in a while and I am sorry. I fell into a rut about what I wanted to write about on here. I...
